Beginning Hiking

This beautifully improved trail will bring us to Ousel Falls, a spectacular waterfall. Along the way your guide will help you discover the inherent beauty of the local ecology. Once at the falls, take time to enjoy a gourmet snack prepared by your guide. The hike out won’t take long so there is plenty of time to practice your photography or sit and bird watch in the mist of Ousel Falls.

Intermediate Hiking - morning or afternoon available

Take a day to soak up the incredible mountain air! Hike through the aromatic wildflowers leading you to snow patches in high alpine meadows. Mountain Ayres Adventures has several options for intermediate hikes. You can expect moderate inclines and declines with a few short steep sections.

Advanced Hiking - full day only

Are you ready to bag a peak? Your guide will coach you to the top of one of Montana’s greatest peaks. Enjoy a gourmet lunch prepared by your guide as you take in the view from the saddle. Once you are refueled, it's time to head for the summit to see the other side. On a clear day, you can see Wyoming's majestic Teton Mountain range. You won’t believe the panoramic views!

Backpacking

Step away from the main stream and take time to observe nature undisturbed. The Tobacco Roots seem to be visible around every corner in Southwest Montana. They offer several 10,000’ peaks with easy to difficult approaches. Alpine lakes connected by old mining roads reverted to trails, make this a backpackers paradise. In addition you will have the option to take a trip back in time and visit the historic mining town of Virginia City.
